A large French Biot jar from the 18th century. Originally used for storing olives and olive oil. This weighty jar has a creamy yellow glazed rim and is beautifully weathered. There are also some splashes of green glaze. The rim is comparably straight indicating that this is a jar from the 18th century.
This iconic French olive jar is suitable for gardens and indoors, to hold pot plants or simply laissez-fair.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
