Eryngium 'Big Blue' is a spectacular performer with a columnar habit and spiky, 4" bright violet-blue flowers. The lovely color extends from the distinctive blooms right down into the ornately cut bracts and stems. Superb in the garden with Salvia and Roses. An excellent cut flower, too. PP 20,636
This highly distinctive genus offers shapes and shades unlike anything else, and is valued for that reason. From low rosettes, Eryngium send up branching stems crowned with domed flower heads in shades of blue. The stiff and spiny leaves that lie below are likewise colored, as are the stems. Most species thrive in full sun and well-drained soil.
